1. The service
Beyond Alarm is an Android alarm clock app. By installing or using it, you agree to these terms.
2. Free features, ads and optional purchases
The current offering includes alarm missions and blocking features free with advertising. Optional purchases remove ads. Availability can change in future releases; the current app and store purchase screen describe the offer that applies to you.
There is no automatic five-day app-managed trial. Any Google Play trial or introductory offer applies only when shown and accepted in its purchase flow. Subscription prices, billing intervals, trial end dates and renewal terms are displayed before confirmation. Subscriptions renew unless cancelled through Google Play; uninstalling the app does not cancel them. A one-time purchase, where offered, does not renew.
Manage subscriptions and request refunds through Google Play under its subscription guidance and applicable refund rules. Cancelling generally stops future renewal while access continues for the paid period.
3. Alarms are not guaranteed
We have gone to considerable lengths to make alarms fire reliably, including native scheduling and a built-in reliability checker. However, Android phone manufacturers — particularly Xiaomi, vivo, OPPO, realme and Samsung — apply aggressive battery restrictions that can prevent any app's alarm from firing if the relevant permissions are not granted.
You are responsible for granting the permissions the app asks for, and for checking the reliability screen. Do not rely on Beyond Alarm — or any app-based alarm — as your only alarm for something critical, such as a flight or an exam.
4. Exercise missions and your safety
The exercise missions require physical movement. You perform them at your own risk. Beyond Alarm is not a fitness or medical product and gives no health advice. If you have any injury, condition, or doubt about whether exercise is safe for you, consult a doctor and choose a non-exercise mission instead. Do not attempt an exercise mission if doing so would be unsafe.
5. Permissions and lockout features
Phone Block, Morning Lockout, Night Lockout and scheduled blocks intentionally restrict the apps or scope you select. Read the setup confirmation, choose a suitable duration and test a short block first. Whole-phone scope can prevent access to useful apps; selected-app scope is more limited.
Strict mode offers an early-exit flow, which can include rewarded ads and a hold confirmation. Hard mode removes the ordinary stop button until the timer ends. Android permissions and system behavior still apply: no app can guarantee that a device cannot be powered off or that every restriction is impossible to bypass. The removed Complete Lockout mode is not part of the current offering.
Optional administrator and accessibility permissions can be managed through Android. Do not configure a block that prevents access to tools you need for safety or essential tasks. See the privacy policy for what these permissions access.
6. Acceptable use
Don't attempt to reverse engineer, resell, or redistribute the app, or use it to interfere with anyone else's device.
7. Liability
Subject to rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law, Beyond Alarm is provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from an alarm failing to sound, a missed appointment, injury during an exercise mission, or your inability to use your device during a lockout you enabled.
8. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new date.
